The Journal of Community Experience & Analysis began as a grassroots effort in a community under siege by radicalized conservatism, cronyism, and regressive ideals. The ongoing national polemic of race and sexual & gender identities continues to further reactionary movements, countering equity and inclusion.
Foundational to GaraDatos is active discourse among neighbors, students, educators, community leaders, politicians, organizers and business leaders with a shared goal in growth and intellectual curiosity. False civility is not our aim. In order to experience growth, conflict and discomfort must have an intimate place with respect, dignity, and decency. This journal will marry the often socio-culturally admonished idea of disagreement with humility, emulating the famous words of truthsayer and 26th President of Mexico, Benito Juarez: "El respeto al derecho ajeno, es la paz." |
